LShift have been building and maintaining the Clearlybusiness site on behalf of Barclays Bank since 2000, during this time the site has developed from being a simple 'Portal' site into providing a communication and revenue-generation channel for Barclays Bank plc through the reselling of software and partner services to Small to Medium size enterprises.
The Brief

The Solution
LShift developed customised systems to help Clearlybusiness manage their online business. These include Content Management, Customer Management, Back-office Stock Control and administration systems.
Solutions were based predominantly on ATG Dynamo and SQLServer to enable integration with back-end processes, while most of the business processes are run within Java components from a Tomcat server. Due to the variety of technologies with which Clearlybusiness had to interface, LShift has developed open standards solutions to simplify and standardise the integration process. LShift's ongoing role is to provide support for the in-house IT department, working with the management team and various suppliers to ensure the solutions scale-up in line with the longer-term aspirations of the company.
The Result
From the successful launch, LShift managed a stable and productive site. With the help of the new systems the Clearlybusiness team was able to generate thousands of new registrations and turn them into revenue sources.
