  9. Intel Low Latency Labs Tests RabbitMQ

    Intel Low Latency Labs this week announced the results of tests they performed on a messaging system built on the RabbitMQ implementation of AMQP, built by LShift and partners CohesiveFT, on Intel hardware running CohesiveFT's Elastic Servers. This configuration achieved a throughput of 1.3 million messages a second.

    We are more than just proud to announce that Johannes Flieger has joined the LShift team as our newest Senior Developer. Johannes took his MSc at Imperial College specialising in logic-based conceptual modelling, knowledge representation, and natural language processing. In the real world, Johannes is also a writer, a painter and 'a seeker of inner slack'.

    Gaydar have launched Gaydar Mobile, an SMS service that allows users to log on to the web site using their mobile phone.

    Jo Paradise, LShift's Office Manager non-pareil, has taken it upon herself to set off travelling the world. As a result we need to recruit a replacement (not that Jo could ever be replaced). We will post a full job description at any moment but, in the meantime, if you have bookeeping and office management skills and think you are up to the challenge of steering the LShift ship, please contact us urgently.

    LShift have appointed Paul Crowley as our newest Senior Developer. Our recruitment program is such that we don't recruit on demand simply to resource new projects but are constantly looking for developers who meet our high technical standards. As such we're delighted to announce that Paul has successfully managed to navigate the long and complex road that is LShift's recruitment process.

    LShift have moved offices. Company expansion over the last year means that we no longer fit so snugly into our Curtain Rd offices, so we have decamped to brighter, bigger and better equipped offices at the junction of Rufus St and Old St.

    LShift MD, Andy Wilson, was one of the keynote speakers at the launch meeting of The Cluster, a networking group for independent New Media agencies interested in exploring deeper agency collaborations. A website is under development here: http://www.thecluster.net Andy has also joined The Cluster Steering Committee as chairman.
