   The Dorling Kindersley TravelDK site won the 'Best Use of Technology' award at the 2008 Travolution awards.

9. Intel Low Latency Labs Tests RabbitMQ

   Intel Low Latency Labs this week announced the results of tests they performed on a messaging system built on the RabbitMQ implementation of AMQP, built by LShift and partners CohesiveFT, on Intel hardware running CohesiveFT's Elastic Servers. This configuration achieved a throughput of 1.3 million messages a second.

    Shifty (LShift's Guru and Avatar) is looking for an experienced Programme Manager / Business Manager with the nous and ambition to drive a truly innovative company. 11. LShift at Agile Business Conference

    The fourth Agile Business Conference will be held at the QE2 Conference Centre from 2-3 October 2007. The conference represents a great opportunity to find out more about a range of Agile development approaches. 12. Dorling Kindersley Travel wins 2007 TravelMole Award

    Dorling Kindersley Travel site won the top award in the Holiday Extras category at the fourth annual TravelMole web awards - the biggest in the event's history - held in London on May 24 at the Canadian High Commission.

    LShift will be attending QCon (Conference for the Enterprise Software Development Community) in London from 14 - 16 March to showcase their new product, RabbitMQ - a joint venture with CohesiveFT.

15. LShift and CohesiveFT launch RabbitMQ Open Source Enterprise Messaging

    LShift have developed RabbitMQ, a complete open source implementation of Advanced Message Queuing Protocol (AMQP), with the support of the pioneering software appliance company CohesiveFT.

    On Tuesday evening, Stuart Mottram and Michael Bridgen from LShift attended the Retail Systems Awards ceremony at the Grosvenor Hotel, London, along with the Gift Service project team from Habitat. It was a tense evening, however they all managed to resist rumbling their hands on the table as the Habitat Gift Service was announced as the winner of the giftcard / loyalty programme of the year category.

    LShift and Habitat partnership reaches the final judging stages of the Retail Systems Awards 2006.

    The Yahoo! House Price Centre has been shortlisted for an BIMA (British Interactive Media Association) award in the B2C category.

    New Media Age have just released their guide to the Top 100 Interactive Agencies for 2006. LShift ranks as the UK's 8th best technical agency and the 4th most efficient.

    Paul Crowley presented two cryptanalysis papers at the SASC 2006 conference in Leuven, Belgium last week.

    As a result of working with clients such as Habitat and Levi's, LShift is launching Expro, a retail-specific Product Information Management system. Expro helps retailers manage product information centrally and then distribute it across all their sales and marketing channels.     Barclays Business Manager, software developed by LShift in conjunction with ClearlyBusiness, was awarded the prestigious Editors Choice award by PC Plus magazine in May.

36. Election Swing Visualiser

    LShift senior developer Paul Crowley has created an application that provides an animated visualisation of the swings between the three main political parties for the last three elections.

37. Stoj

    We've been investigating different languages for modelling bio-molecular processes, and ways of visualising those models. Our investigation resulted in a new concurrent programming language, StoJ.

38. Andy Back From Nepal

    LShift MD, Andy Wilson, has returned from his fundraising trek to Nepal.

39. Orchard Network

    LShift have signed a Joint Venture agreement with Orchard Network to build an International market-entry business network.

40. Open For Business

    Barclays launched the Open for Business CD, a multimedia training application aimed at new businesses, authored and programmed by LShift.

41. Semantics in Life Sciences

    LShift CTO Matthias Radestock co-authored the paper Lab to Lab Connectivity and Semantics in the Life Sciences, presented at the W3C Semantic Web for Life Sciences workshop in Cambridge, Massachusetts last November.

    The next meeting of the Scheme UK user's group at LShift offices will will be held on Wednesday, 6 October 2004 from 7pm till we leave for the pub. This meeting will be held in conjuction with UK Lispers.

We expect you to combine breadth of experience (multiple OS, DBA, languages, etc.) with considerable depth of knowledge across that range.

46. Himalayan Trek

    LShift MD Andy Wilson will be trekking in the Himalayas in Febuary to raise money for the charity Rokpa. We'll be holding a number of fund raising events over the coming months that we hope you will support. 52. Flieger Lands

    We are more than just proud to announce that Johannes Flieger has joined the LShift team as our newest Senior Developer. Johannes took his MSc at Imperial College specialising in logic-based conceptual modelling, knowledge representation, and natural language processing. In the real world, Johannes is also a writer, a painter and 'a seeker of inner slack'.

53. NMA Site of the Week

    The New Media Knowledge site designed and built by LShift and Lateral was site of the week in New Media Age magazine this week. We think this vindicates the power of our model of collaborating with other leading-edge agencies to produce sites that combine the best design and technology around today.

55. Elaine Lynch Joins LShift

    Percival failed to get The Grail and the whale defeated Ahab but, in the form of Elaine Lynch, LShift finally managed to recruit an Office Manager to replace the much-missed Jo Paradise.

56. LShift Developers at LISP Conference

    LShift staff will be presenting papers at the International Lisp Conference 2003 in New York next month. Technical Director, Matthias Radestock, will be speaking on standardisation and portability in Scheme, while Senior Developer Michael Bridgen and LShift alumni Noel Welsh have had a paper on using Scheme in a commercial setting accepted.

57. LShift and Gaydar Launch SMS Service

    Gaydar have launched Gaydar Mobile, an SMS service that allows users to log on to the web site using their mobile phone.

58. LShift Need an Office Manager

    Jo Paradise, LShift's Office Manager non-pareil, has taken it upon herself to set off travelling the world. As a result we need to recruit a replacement (not that Jo could ever be replaced). We will post a full job description at any moment but, in the meantime, if you have bookeeping and office management skills and think you are up to the challenge of steering the LShift ship, please contact us urgently.

59. Paul Crowley Joins LShift

    LShift have appointed Paul Crowley as our newest Senior Developer. Our recruitment program is such that we don't recruit on demand simply to resource new projects but are constantly looking for developers who meet our high technical standards. As such we're delighted to announce that Paul has successfully managed to navigate the long and complex road that is LShift's recruitment process.

63. LShift have Moved

    LShift have moved offices. Company expansion over the last year means that we no longer fit so snugly into our Curtain Rd offices, so we have decamped to brighter, bigger and better equipped offices at the junction of Rufus St and Old St.

64. Steve Heath Joins LShift

    LShift is pleased to announce the Steve Heath has joined LShift as a Senior Developer. Steve has a wealth of experience in developing web applications and Java programming.

68. Tom Berger Joins LShift

    LShift is pleased to announce the Tom Berger has joined the company. In addition to his work at LShift Tom is studying Linguistics.

69. Samaritans Website Launched

    LShift worked with Agency Republic to build a campaign website for the Samaritans.

70. Illiad Uses SISC

    The Iliad Project is using the SISC Scheme interpreter developed by LShift's Technical Director, Matthias Radestock.

71. Cluster Launch

    LShift MD, Andy Wilson, was one of the keynote speakers at the launch meeting of The Cluster, a networking group for independent New Media agencies interested in exploring deeper agency collaborations. A website is under development here: http://www.thecluster.net Andy has also joined The Cluster Steering Committee as chairman.

72. New Media Knowledge

    Along with Lateral and kddPR, LShift took part in a collaborative pitch to win the design, build and development of NMK's new website which is planned to launch in March 2003.
